Global Movement

About Us

global movement

On our very first Peace and Healing caravan in 1991 we used Margaret Mead’s quote as our inspiration: “Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful, committed citizens can change the world. Indeed, it is the only thing that ever has”. So twenty years later we find our commitment to Peace and Well Being deepened and now shared by many more Weavers of Peace around the world. By choice, we are woven together into conscious community and organically the movement is changing the spiritual and ecological evolution of the planet. Intrinsically new paradigms of personal health, functional family, and global peace have arisen. Grounding daily with wellness practices gives us the powerful foundation to create a strong, balanced life of service. So may we continue to gather together and create a great “Weaving of Wellness.”

The journey of being conscious Weavers is not always easy, and living in community increases the challenges exponentially. But by living from the Heart of Awareness we can more readily access forgiveness, love, and compassion. These conscious practices transform our old delusional attachments into a life of freedom and liberation for ourselves and others. Ultimately, as more and more people are empowered to live their lives in this way, we are manifesting Peace on Earth in our lifetime!

One of our guiding lights has been Mohandas Gandhi, and in particular his statement: “We must be the change we wish to see in the world”. We have come to understand that global peace and wellness has to begin in our own body/mind, our own thoughts, words, and actions. Certainly Gandhi exemplified this spirit in his own life and practices. We have been humbled and inspired to have not only befriended Gandhi’s grandson, Arun Gandhi, but we are now honored that he is an active PeaceWeaver Elder. We have been moved even more deeply by Arun’s unsolicited statement that “the PeaceWeaver community here at Thunder Mountain is the closest thing I have seen in the West to my grandfather’s ashrams.”

So may we follow in the footsteps of the Weavers of Peace and Healing who have walked before us. Let us take care of each thought, each word, each action, and live long lives of service to relieve all our relations of pain and suffering. With Light, Love and Joy let us celebrate a new global beginning.

May all Beings be Well and Happy!
