WAH!

Friday, August 7th - 8:00 pm

Wah! combines reggae, Hindu chanting and pop to create a unique mix of spiritual world music. Concerts include chanting, storytelling and songs in English; the atmosphere is festive and jubliant. The Saratoga Post describes Wah! as “hypnotic, mesmerizing and energizing - just a few adjectives that could be used to describe a recent performance by Wah!  The success stems from Wah!’s extraordinary voice, which ight be characterized as Jewel meets Sade. Visit http://wahmusic.com/ for more information.

Wah! will also be leading yoga and workshops on Saturday Aug 8

Chanting begins with an invocation - a prayer, a group Om, or some small line of remembrance that connects everyone to a higher source.  WAH! invokes a blessing from the Divine Mother.  Once the energy is started, the practice consists of call-and-response chanting - the chantleader sings a line and the audience sings it back.  The tempos build and fade according to the divine mood, or bhav.  The music is a support, a vehicle to attaining the divine mood of the group.  Wah! shares her music, spirit and stories on the spiritual path in this special workshop.
